Disney Pixar Up - Married Life - Carl & Ellie by Michael Giacchino - The...

This is an amazing example of character. Before the film even starts it shows a lot of emotion, character and also personality. We see 'Carl and Ellie married life' (2009) and we get to experience what they experience. I found this very clever how Pixar could fit this whole concept in 4 minutes. We as an audience feel what they feel, happiness along with sadness. I think this introduction has grasped every emotion which makes this clip so amazing. We gradually see them in married life, a new home, their dreams, their relationship and how it grows along with their age. Towards the end we see problems with the wife were she cannot have a child and later on becomes weaker, again the emotion and character shown in both 'Carl' and 'Ellie' is shown in such depth which causes us to react in the same way. From beginning to end, in just a little over 4 minutes, every single detail is conveyed perfectly.

Pixar Opens With A Bang!

This clip shows the Pixar Animation Studios in Melbourne and how they create pieces of Animation in different ways e.g. colour, clay models and technology. I really liked how the models of Pixar's characters looked, I found them very neat and precise which I highly take seriously. I also like how they talk about character and they way it is portrayed, e.g. 'Edna' from The Incredibles was show with a strong personality. Good insight of the industry.

Pixar Intro Parody

I decided to post this video because I found it so funny and clever! Quite mean though but funny, enjoy! ;)

Pixar Short: Day & Night - An Inside Look

I chose to post this video because it's an inside 'scoop' of the story 'Day & Night' (2010), directed by Teddy Newton (born in Encino). The producers also talk about there own experience, what they think about the video and the concept itself. I was surprised when I read that they said 'it was the hardest Pixar short to describe'...I absolutely LOVED this clip and found it a very interesting concept and they way how everything fits in with each other. Even so, the fact how they interpreted this idea within 2 characters was amazing, fun and appealing to their target audience, which looks like young children. 'It's a weird concept'- Kevin Reher,  producer (born in Bellevue)...in my opinion? Weird and wonderful! :)

25 Years of Pixar Animation

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS CLIP! Watching what Pixar Studios has achieved over 25 years is amazing! I loved the whole concept of this film, the opening entry, the variety of films shown and each quote chosen to project to us, the audience. A great achievement for Pixar! :)

A Rare Look Inside Pixar Studios

I chose to share this clip because this shows exactly how much work goes into producing a film, a scene or even a short clip. Not only for Pixar but in general, how much work is involved in making a final production. With the help of Creative scientist Ed Catmull (1945), computer scientist, visionary entrepreneur Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) and talented artist John Lasseter (January 12, 1957), American animator, director and the chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar has improved over the years. When i first watched this clip and saw the technology involved and the techniques included, it looked very challenging and confusing however, I do believe half of Animation 'revolves' around technology in order to bring that something to life, give it a personality and character. Mostly Toy Story (1995) is shown and it is obvious that without this film, I dont think Pixar would be a big industry as it is today. I enjoyed watching this as I saw how the 'mind' of Pixar works.

The Pixar Story (1/9)

Pixar and how it was a couple years back. I really like the opening of this clip as it shows many Animated films, a selection of films from the past and some from the modern days we live today. Then later on, it shows all the achievement Pixar has lived through e.g. The Incredibles (2004), Monsters Inc. (2001) and Toy Story (1995). I think this is a great video to show us the background of Pixar and in depth information about the industry. There are 9 parts to this you can watch to unravel more information :)

The History of Pixar Animation Studios

I like this video and how it shows the 'journey' Pixar has gone through to get were they are now. The opening of this video clearly shows what Pixar specializes in...computer Animation. Then it moves on to Disney and how their relationship with Pixar is. I think that Pixar has become a big and successful industry due to the help of Disney. However, the short clips Pixar has produced such as 'Luxo Jr' (1986) I think has given Pixar it's own 'identity'. I enjoy Pixar productions very much, the use of colour, the sharp lines and interesting characters.

Luxo Jr 1986 PIXAR

'Luxo Jr.' (1986) was the first film produced in 1986 by Pixar Animation Studios. I like how desk lamps are shown in this short film. It comes across as something new and different and I think it works well. With this I believe, the desk lamp went onto becoming the famous logo of Pixar Studios, a unique sign that establishes Pixar.
