This is an amazing example of character. Before the film even starts it shows a lot of emotion, character and also personality. We see 'Carl and Ellie married life' (2009) and we get to experience what they experience. I found this very clever how Pixar could fit this whole concept in 4 minutes. We as an audience feel what they feel, happiness along with sadness. I think this introduction has grasped every emotion which makes this clip so amazing. We gradually see them in married life, a new home, their dreams, their relationship and how it grows along with their age. Towards the end we see problems with the wife were she cannot have a child and later on becomes weaker, again the emotion and character shown in both 'Carl' and 'Ellie' is shown in such depth which causes us to react in the same way. From beginning to end, in just a little over 4 minutes, every single detail is conveyed perfectly.
